PhysX should always be set to "low," actually, as all PhysX effects within this game are completely unrealistic (oil slicks, rocks the weight of pieces of styrofoam, etc.) and do nothing but decimate frame rate for virtually no visual gain. (Not sure why you made comments referencing my hardware or my experience, but you made them, so there must be a reason.) I own a PC with a 2500K at 4.7 GHz and two 670s, in fact (more than enough to run this title at 4K/60, which I routinely do, in fact). The average frame rate with smoothing set to "off" is almost certainly higher, but that doesn't make the experience "less choppy" or "better." (Unless, of course, you're coming from a sub-25 frame rate.) :) With it turned off, judder is nearly intolerable (especially with this title). Originally posted by Callitwhatyoulike.:įrame rate smoothing does precisely what it sounds like it does: it eliminates judder between frames.

You should have PhysX turned on at all in game ONLY if you have a NVIDIA Dedicated Graphics Card (Meaning it IS NOT integrated or as AMD loves to put it to gain sales from confusing people "Discret" APU)

The reason it seems choppy is either because you own a PC with an AMD APU (Which is nothing more than a rebadged version of AMD's 3DNow instruction set) or Intel Integrated Graphics Chipset, or own an AMD Video Card while turning on PhysX to "high" in game. Truning off Frame Smoothing made it quite palyable in my case.Ģ. "Minimum Smooth Frame Rate" is a reworded version of rthe Unreal 2.5 and 2.0 Engine "Minimum Desired Frame Rate". Frame Smoothing is nothing more than a fancy way of saying "Motion Blur". You have no understanding of the Unreal 3.0 Engine. Why do you assert that setting it to FALSE will make frame rates "more efficient?" Further, you want "min" set to the lowest frame rate you generally hit during gaming, not 60 (though a max of 60 is accurate).ġ. The game is nearly unplayably choppy if bSmooth.is set to FALSE. Then, in order to get efficient frame rates make a backup copy of the "DefaultEngine.ini" file and use a text editor to make the following lines as follows in the original.
